Web design for Hertfordshire businesses.
Where Wilson’s Websites started in 2020, and where some of the sites we built then are still online and still looked after.
- Started in Hertfordshire in 2020
- Fixed, written quotes
- Reply within a working day
- Client sites online since 2021
Started here, still here.
Wilson’s Websites began in Hertfordshire in 2020, building websites for small businesses: an accountancy practice, a forest school, a sweet shop, an events company. Some of those businesses have since closed or moved on. The accountancy site we built in 2021 is still online, and we still look after it.
More recently we built a custom website and client web app for a personal trainer in Redbourn, near St Albans, with client logins, sessions and online payments. The approach hasn’t changed: a fixed price agreed up front, a site that fits how the business actually works, and someone who stays reachable afterwards.
Most Hertfordshire businesses sell to people within a few miles, so being found locally matters more than almost anything else. That shapes how we build and how we approach SEO.
Four services, one studio.
Getting found town by town.
People in Hertfordshire search by town: “accountant Harpenden”, “personal trainer St Albans”, “electrician Hitchin”. Showing up means a Google Business Profile with the right service area, reviews from real customers, and pages that make clear exactly where you work.
As more people ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI Overviews for local recommendations, it also helps to have a site those tools can read and trust: clear services, clear locations, and the details people actually ask about.
Areas we cover include
- St Albans
- Harpenden
- Redbourn
- Hemel Hempstead
- Berkhamsted
- Watford
- Hatfield
- Welwyn Garden City
- Hertford
- Hitchin
- Stevenage
- Letchworth
How it works from here.
Two time zones, one working day
John is now based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Queensland evenings are UK mornings, so calls between about 8 and 10am UK time work well, and emails get a reply within a working day.
Still looking after sites from 2021
We’ve kept Hertfordshire client sites updated, backed up and online for years, including a stretch when we weren’t taking on new work at all.
Fixed price, written down

Hertfordshire FAQs
You’re based in Australia. How does that work for a UK business?
John is based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Everything happens over video calls and email anyway, and Queensland evenings line up with UK mornings, so calls usually happen between about 8 and 10am UK time. Emails get a reply within a working day.
Do you still look after websites you built years ago?
Yes. The site we built for an accountancy practice in 2021 is still online and still maintained by us. Looking after sites long after launch is the core of what we do.
Can you take over a website someone else built?
Usually. We start by checking the platform, the hosting and what access you have, then tell you honestly whether to keep it, fix it or rebuild.
Do you work across the whole county?
Yes, anywhere in Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties, and further afield too. Where you are makes no difference to how we work.
